GPRS ni kifupisho cha General Packet Radio Service, ni huduma ya simu inayowezesha kutumwa na kupokelewa kwa habari kupitia mitandao ya simu(inunganisha simu katika mtandao wa internet), malipo ya gharama zake hutozwa kutokana na ukubwa wa data. Ugunduzi wa GPRS ni hatua kubwa sana katika ukuaji wa teknolojia ya simu. Sifa moja kubwa ya gprs ni kwamba inauwezo wa kufanya shughuli zaidi ya moja kwa wakati mmoja, kwa mfano unaweza kupokea sms katika simu wakati unaongea na mtu bila na ukaijibu hiyo sms bila kukata simu. Huduma hii inasaidia simu ziweze kusafirisha data katika kasi kubwa sana.
